How much did you lose (pounds, inches, dress/pants size)?
Since the beginning of 2015 when my LCHF journey started I’ve lost more than 60 kilos. Initially the loss was pretty straightforward, but a few months into my new lifestyle, I felt the need to start working out, my muscle mass improved so now I’m not keeping tabs on my weight so thoroughly – what matters is what I look like, but most of all – how I feel about myself and about my body.
When did you become unhappy with your weight?
I was overweight and fat for as long as I can remember. I tried many diets while in high school. The only result I got was gaining even more weight after a small success in the right direction. As a teenager I was 125 kilos and things got worse and worse.
I had almost 150 kg at the end of 2014. This was a breaking point. I sent an email to Gasper of LCHFlove.com and I was willing to surrender to whatever he had in store for me.
Luckily, I liked it – the daily meal plan consisted of eggs, fatty fish, some chicken, hazelnuts and macadamias, olive oil, butter, avocado and the such. I lost almost 6 kilos in a week. My motivation hasn’t dropped ever since. In 8 months I was well under 100 kilos and for the first time in my life I started working out – and enjoying it.
What is your advice to people who are where you were in 2014?
Well, for one thing, I always thought I can either rely on “good advice” and “common sense” or on my own “knowing” how I can change the downward spiral. One of the crucial moments was to admit to myself that I can’t do it alone. Despite having read everything about any diet in the world, my door to being slimmer was just shut. I needed someone with experience, knowledge and skills to motivate me – Gasper was all that and more. He supported me all the way!
